Hi, I'm Pete.

Before I was West Hawaii's handyman, I spent 15 years installing custom granite and marble countertops in Cincinnati, Ohio — the work that taught me the difference between a job and a job done right lives in the millimeters.

In 2019 I came to the Big Island for a fitness retreat and never left. The Midwest weather had worn me down, and I figured if I was going to work hard for the rest of my life, I'd rather do it surrounded by ocean and trade winds. I started Handyman Pete that same year.

These days I serve the West Hawaii area from Captain Cook up to Waikoloa, with a small woodworking shop at home where I build the occasional cabinet or vanity.

What I enjoy most about the work is the technical side — the problem somebody else has given up on, the thing that "isn't supposed to work" until you figure out why it isn't and fix it.When I'm not on a jobsite you'll usually find me out on a trail or snorkeling — both of which are a lot easier here than they ever were in Ohio.
